Habitat for Humanity Bare Your Sole Charity Walk

Bare Your Sole is an annual event that raises much needed funds for Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s local programme, Project HomeWorks. These intensive weekly clean-up sessions focus on improving the living conditions of the elderly and persons with disabilities who live alone in often dirty, cramped and bug-infested one- or two-room rental flats.

Taking inspiration from the event itself, we created the event graphic through the use of feet. These feet and other elements formed the shape of a house. These visuals helped convey the message behind the event; that every penny raised through the event will go into helping the less fortunate in Singapore.

Through the support of participants, we managed to raise S$250,000 this year that will help us clean another 300 homes. This includes replacing furniture as well as providing professional fumigation services for the beneficiaries.

1-Room HDB Flat exhibition

A small exhibition was set up on the event site to replicate how living in a 1-room HDB flat looks like. This is further enhanced by provided educating messages on the walls and furniture of the flat. A special flat view of a HDB building was placed on one of the exhibition panel. Participants are then encouraged to write their messages and wishes on sticky notes pasted on each panel of the corridor.

Downtown Line Concept Train dress-up

Trains are dressed up with event graphic for a month to further promote the event. Facts about Singapore’s less fortunate are conveyed across as messages on the graphic to raise awareness.
